Part of these changes will see several of the company's services moved from the seat in Belgium to a corresponding Netherlands office, resulting in the axeing of 61 out of its 139 employees at the Asse/Zellik base.
The areas affected are finance, controlling, ICT, HR and internal audit.
To further increase the profitability of the business Media Markt – Saturn has announced that it is working on offering online sales, after integrating pure player Redcoon into the company earlier this year.
The business will nonetheless remain dedicated to its stores, as three new outlets are planned to open in the next year.
The German Media-Saturn-Holding GmbH owns 877 stores in 16 countries, with Media Markt – Saturn making up 23 of these outlets.
