(JB) Motorists experienced major tailbacks on the A3 on Tuesday afternoon after a truck driver lost control of his vehicle and collided with the barrier.
The haulage lorry was being driven along the motorway close to the exit for Bettembourg and Livange when, at around 1.30pm, it bumped the left rear of a white van.
The driver then lost control of the truck, careering into the barrier on the right-hand-side and blocking the path of traffic behind it.
The driver of a black car behind the lorry was unable to brake in time and was pushed by the rear of the lorry into the emergency lane and barriers.
No-one was injured in the potentially lethal incident and all roads users were able to climb out of their vehicles without assistance.
The road was blocked until at least 5pm while rescue workers cleared debris from the collision. The Croix de Gasperich remained heavily congested at around 5.15pm.
