For some reason, Wednesday afternoon and early evening had more than its fair share of road accidents. Within the space of 3 hours, 3 important traffic accidents occurred causing traffic delays.

(ADW) For some reason, Wednesday afternoon and early evening had more than its fair share of road accidents. Bettembourg operations centre was kept busy as within the space of 3 hours, 3 important traffic accidents occurred causing traffic delays. Fortunately however, nobody was seriously injured.
If you were stuck in traffic jams yesterday, the following accidents could well explain why.
1. Collision on A3 motorway
A rear-end collision occurred on the A3 motorway at about 3:40pm on Wednesday in the direction of Luxembourg just before “Aire de Berchem". A car smashed into the back of a truck while a following van was unable to stop and crashed into the car sandwiching it between the 3 vehicles. Two people suffered injuries from the accident and were taken to hospital.
A major traffic jam built up on the A3 while a clean-up operation took place.
2. Collision at the "Schlamestee" junction on N3
Late afternoon on Wednesday, a 3-car collision occurred at the junction "Schlamestee" between Alzingen and Frisange on the N3 (Route de Thionville). Two cars collided head-on with each other, hurling one of the cars into a third waiting to turn at the junction. Two people suffered minor injuries in the accident. The busy route de Thionville was blocked for a short period, but quickly returned to normal .
3. Accident between Bettembourg and Kockelscheuer
A car travelling along the road between Bettembourg and Kockelscheuer at about 6:30pm for unknown reasons at this stage, skidded off the road and landed in a ditch tipping the car over, before it came to a rest on its side. The driver suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital.
