THEATRE & OPERA
October 28, Grand Théâtre, Cavalli's La Didone, 8pm
La Didone tells the famous story of Carthaginian queen Dido and her ill-fated love for Aeneas. With musical director William Christie of the Arts Florissants conducting, the piece was directed by Comédie-Française actor Clément Hervieu-Léger. The lead roles are performed by Anna Bonitatibus and Kresimir Spicer.
October 28 & 29, Abbaye Neumunster, Marie Sklodowska Curie, 8pm
Theatre in English chronicling the life of Marie Curie, beginning with her return from the Nobel awards ceremony in 1911, where she received her second Nobel prize. While Curie is best known for her achievements in physics, this two-actor play explores the lesser-known sides of her life, such as a turbulent affair which almost ruined her.
October 29, Utopolis & Utopia, Don Giovanni, 7pm
From the New York Metropolitan's HD opera series, you can catch Mozart's Don Giovanni on the big screen. Tony Award winning director Michael Grandage directed, with Mariusz Kwiecien in the title-role as the infamous nobleman.
FILM

October 28-30, Cinémathèque, Various
The Cinémathèque serves a mix of old and modern classics over the weekend. First up is Woody Allen starring in Play It Again, Sam at 6.30pm on Friday followed by Jim Jarmusch's arthouse classic Stranger Than Paradise at 8.30pm. Saturday brings Oscar-nominated The Hours and Australian drama Picnic At Hanging Rock. Sunday, film enthusiasts can enjoy cult classic King Kong on the big screen. Another highlight includes a double-bill under the motto Sexploitation, featuring two x-rated flicks from the 1970s on Friday night.
October 28 – November 13, Festival du Film Italien de Villerups, Various
Catch current Italian film on the big screen in the 34th rendition of the film festival. With 21 films screened in total in venues across Luxembourg the festival offers cinemagoers and film enthusiasts the opportunity to see Italian film that has not made it into international release. Please check for available subtitles.
MUSIC

October 28, Brasserie de l'Arret, Tomi y su Timbalight, 10.30pm
Head to the Brasserie de l'Arret also known as Cubana Café for some hot salsa tunes. Tomas “Tomi” Sotolongo joins Cuban rhythms with funky modern influences. Before and after the concert a DJ will keep you on your feet.
October 29, Hall polyvalent “La Chiers” Differdange, Luxembourg Music Festival, 6pm
Find out more about Luxembourg music and song at this music festival. A selection of bands, singers and groups will perform anything from folk and rock to heavy metal – all made in Luxembourg.
October 30, Abbaye Neumunster, Apéro's Jazz, 11.30am
Get an early Sunday fill of jazz at this free concert featuring saxophone player Laurent Pierre. He will be supported by four other musicians on the trumpet, drums, piano and bass.

October 28 – November 20, Abbaye Neumunster, CHANGES
Inspired by the changes happening all around the world, from Wikileaks to the Arab Spring, from the financial crisis to Occupy Wall Street, this art project aims to bring together art inspired by the past 12 months in a brick and mortar exhibition.
