(JB) Police have opened a murder inquiry after the body of a young man discovered in a fire was found to have severe injuries.
According to police, firefighters found the lifeless body of a 22-year-old man while tackling the blaze at the flat in Avenue Dr Gaasch, in Rodange, on October 30.
The man was found in the living room where the blaze had caused severe damage.
An autopsy of the body has since revealed that the deceased had suffered severe injuries prior to his death. According to the autopsy report the injuries were not caused by the fire.
