Maybe you thought that the music festival season was over. Well think again as this coming Saturday 12 November the third edition of Mess For Masses takes place in Steinfort.
Mess For Masses may sound like a religious gathering but as Tom Karier, one of the main festival organisers explained; “it's called mess because its a complete mix and 'mess' of music styles and aimed at a large crowd which explains the 'masses'.”
The festival is a celebration of good local music and in total 11 acts will take to the stage with styles ranging from hip hop to funk rock, electro to neo-folk, in fact something for all tastes.
“Mess for Masses was started by the youth of the organisation Harmonie Kleinbettingen. We decided to do something promoting Luxembourgish music, which seemed the most natural thing to do because we as a “harmonie” are doing this same kind of thing, so why not Luxembourgish bands?” Tom explained.
In it's three year's of existence the festival has really grown in popularity and whereas the first year organisers had to seek out bands, now they receive more applications to perform than they can handle. “Unfortunately with all the applications that come in we can't make everyone happy and have to reject some bands” stated Tom, before going on to explain that the emphasis this year is on partying which could well have been a factor when band selection took place.
Who's performing?
The event begins at 4:30pm on Saturday 12 November at Steinfort's cutural centre and sports and swimming pool complex, “Centre Roudermer”.
Tickets cost €10 presale or €12 on the day itself.
