The home in Résidence de Service in rue Hemmer caught fire on Thursday morning when a burning candle fell.
A police spokesperson said that the female occupant was out running errands when the bedroom caught fire.
A male occupant tried to extinguish the flames but was unable to put out the blaze and called the fire service.
He received minor injuries. Firefighters evacuated the building and managed to isolate the blaze to two rooms before it was completely extinguished.
Police closed surrounding roads during the operation.
