(CS) Synthetics company Ampacet has pledged to invest 25 million euros for a new Dudelange site, creating 50 jobs.
An according agreement was signed Thursday morning between Ampacet director Giuseppe Giusto, economy minster Jeannot Krecké and Dudelange mayor Alex Bodry.
The company plans to buy the “Husky” property in the Dudelange industrial zone, adding a production line to its European headquarters. The current offices in Waldhof counting 85 employees will be moved to the new site.
The expansion will allow a 60% increase in production in Europe.
Ampacet's business in Europe, the Middle East and Africa is coordinated from the Grand Duchy. The company specialises in the masterbatch technology to produce coloured granules for plastic production, as well as colour concentrates.
Worldwide the company employs around 6,000 people. Another site is located across the border in the Belgian town of Messancy. In 2010 Ampacet's consolidated revenue amounted to over 330 million euros.
