Time-poor residents can now get all their shopping delivered at home thanks to Cactus supermarket.
The new service, dubbed Cactus@home, allows shoppers to choose from more than 3,000 different products, which can be delivered to an address anywhere in Luxembourg 12 hours a day, seven days a week.
With many supermarkets closing at around 7pm during the week, the service is ideal for people who work long hours, have families as well as those with limited mobility.
Cactus has had a presence in Luxembourg for the last 40 years, since opening the country's first supermarket in Bereldange.
A fleet of five refrigerated lorries has been purchased to carry out deliveries of the goods, which are stored in a warehouse in Windhof. Cactus has also recruited a further 13 staff to run the service.
Customers wishing to use the service can go online to order their goods. They must spend a minimum of 50 euros per order and the cost of delivery to anywhere in the Grand Duchy costs an additional 5 euros. Customers can also collect points on their loyalty card for online purchases.
Cactus is the first supermarket in Luxembourg to offer a full home delivery service for customers. Internet supermarket Luxcaddy has provided a similar service for some months. Meanwhile Delhaize and Auchan Drive offer an online shopping service in which customers must collect their goods from indicated collection points.
