(ADW) How do you inspire children to learn about music? How about accompanying them to the free workshop especially designed for them? “24 heures Electro For Kids” takes place at the Rockhal organised by the concert hall's Music & Resources department.
Among the musical experiments that children can immerse themselves in: Samplophone – hit the xylophone and hear sound samples, voice transformers, loop disco – change music with your feet, Bit Byte Beat – make lines and patterns on paper to change the rhythm (see video above) , Slam organ – play the organ with flip flops, and Earth xylophone – 12 children can play the instrument at the same time.
All the wondrous instruments belong to Museeum Mobile (mobile museum) run by Michael Bradke that children and their parents can discover from January 16 to February 4 2012 at the Rockhal.
Kids will get to try their hand at creating and manipulating sound for the second edition of “24 heures Electro For Kids”, having proved to be a great success the previous year.
The children’s music “laboratory” runs from January 16 to February 4 and will be open from 9am to 6pm during the week, and 10am to 5pm on Saturday. Entrance is totally free to kids of all ages.
There will also be a special opening workshop that takes place at 11am on January 15 at the Rockhal hosted by Michael Bradke: "Generate sounds with your body."
So why is it called “24 heures” (hours)? The reason is because there is an adult electronic music festival "24 heures electroniques" run by the Music & Resources arm of the Rockhal that takes place in October. Adults too get the chance to play and experiment with electronic music, together with live concerts, but this time it does last 24 hours. The children’s version stems from this festival.
