(ADW) Luxembourg's Automobile Club, the ACL, issued a warning on Thursday morning of icy roads as temperatures dropped below freezing in some places, however not before several accidents occurred.
At about 7:15am a traffic accident occurred on the road between Echternach and Junglinster in the area of Waldhaf, blocking two of the three lanes. Traffic jams built up in both directions. Apparently not all sections of the road were gritted as several other accidents were reported.
On the N10 in the east of the country another two accidents occurred. One between Born and Rosport where a truck blocked the road having crashed near the Rosport water plant, scattering debris across the road.
On a slippery road surface between Schandel and Useldange a vehicle, surprised by ice patches, skidded and rolled over.
Other accidents were reported in the morning, including on the route between Hunsdorf and Steinsel and between Mersch and Buschdorf.
