Enovos Luxembourg is to construct a new wind farm in northern France capable of powering 5,500 households per year.
The new park, planned for Souilly, near Verdun in France, will generate up to 10MW of green power using five wind turbines.
Enovos Luxembourg Cogeneration & Renewable Energies chief Daniel Christnach said: "With the production of green electricity from the park Souilly, we can avoid generating more than 9,200 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions each year. Including the park of Souilly, Enovos now has capacity to generate nearly 270 MW of renewable energy for Luxembourg, Germany, Belgium, France and Italy. "
Construction work on the new wind farm is expected to begin in January, 2012. If all goes according to plan, the park will start generating energy in September 2012.
