December 18, The Nutcracker, Utopia, 4pm
Straight from Moscow's Bolshoï Theatre, the classic tale set in the land of sweets, is a holiday classic. Let the Sugar Plum Fairy enchant you in Yuri Grigorovich's stunning production.
CINEMA

December 16-18, Cinémathèque, Various
MUSIC

December 16, Bang Your Head Festival, Kulturfabrik, 7pm

December 16, Christmas in Swing, CAPe Ettelbrück, 8pm
If you can't get enough of those holiday tunes, let Andrej Hermlin and the Swing Dance Orchestra get you in the groove playing all-American Christmas classics.
December 17, ELVIS The Multimedia Experience, CinéBelval Esch, 7.30pm
See Elvis on the big screen synchronised live by Luxembourg's premier Elvis interpreter Steven Pitman. Pitman's dulcet tones are a true homage to the King of Rock. If you're thinking of a tacky Elvis impersonator, think again and let this cinematic musical experience take you back to Elvis' heyday.
ART

Ongoing until January 8, 2012, Toothpick, Casino Luxembourg
Wannes Goetschalckx' unusual project has certainly raised heads in the Grand Duchy. The modern art forum's outgoing resident artist installed a poplar in the Casino's aquarium and has been chipping away at it to make a toothpick, without the help of industrial tools. You can check out his progress until the new year.
Ongoing until May 7, 2012, Emotions, Villa Vauban
The exhibit brings together works of art from the 17th to the 20th century, reflecting the scope of human emotion, from happiness and love to sadness and grief, in painting and photography.
OTHER

Not only will you get to hear some smashing '80s tunes, you can do so wearing your favourite Christmas sweater! Crimp your hair, get out the shoulder pads and make Wham! proud. Only for over 21s.

It's the last chance to see Dudelange's traditional Christmas market and medieval village. Find holiday gifts at the arts and crafts stalls, with special concerts every day and lots of sweet and savoury treats.
