Players of an emerging sport in Luxembourg helped raise an impressive 4,500 euros for a charity helping cancer sick children from Luxembourg.
The funds were raised through the one-day Kick Cancer into Touch (KCIT) tournament in August, which attracted a record-breaking 10 teams to Cessange for a day of touch rugby.
Women, men and children of all abilities and backgrounds attended the friendly tournament, which this year celebrated its 10th anniversary.
The remainder of the funds were raised through sponsorship of a team in this year's Relais Pour Vie, a relay event to show solidarity for patients battling cancer.
KCIT founder Joe Lister presented the funds to the Fondatioun Kriibskrank Kanner at a ceremony on Thursday.
He told wort.lu/en: “To provide a donation to an organisation like Kriibskrank Kanner, especially to Madame Bruck and Laurent, is a lovely privilege. It is hard not to feel in awe of these people and the work they do. Everyone involved in the events and who raised money or made a donation should feel proud to support such a cause.”
The Fondatioun Kriibskrank Kanner is a not for profit organisation supporting cancer sick children and their families.
