A handful of Luxembourg tourists had to be evacuated after a historic hotel in Germany's Black Forest caught fire.
The hotel "Bären" in Titisee-Neustadt, Germany, was severely damaged when a blaze broke out on Tuesday night. Altogether five people were injured and though there were thought to be some 23 Luxembourg residents at the hotel, none were harmed.
Among the 80 guests staying at the popular hotel, 70 were tourists. The Luxembourg tourists were staying at the hotel as part of a package booked with travel agency Sales-Lentz. The agency confirmed that 19 of the holiday-makers were relocated to nearby hotels and four cut their holidays short and returned to the Grand Duchy.
Of the people injured, four were employed at the hotel and one was a firefighter. Three employees suffered smoke inhalation and another broke their leg. The firefighter received head injuries.
The fire reportedly broke out in one of the hotel rooms when a television exploded at around 9pm on Tuesday. It was brought under control by 3am on Wednesday.
