A man and his son were left stranded on the side of the road when a gang of carjackers stole their vehicle.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident in which the father and son were forced out of their Porsche by armed thieves early on Monday morning.
According to police the pair were travelling south at Lamadelaine when the driver realised he was being followed by a black BMW with French plates. Just before the border, at rue Athus, the BMW forced the sports car off the road.
Four men got out of the black car, one carrying a pistol, and demanded that the man and his son leave the car. They obeyed and the four men left the scene with both cars in the direction of the Belgian border. The man with the gun was about 1.80 metres tall, aged 20 to 25 years old and of North African origin. He wore dark clothes and a black hat.
The carjacking incident occurred at around 6.50am on Monday. The stolen car was a grey Porsche Panamera with the number plate 8956. Anyone with information is urged to call Luxembourg police on 113.
