(LB/ADW) It was a year ago that Luxembourg tour operator Sales-Lentz made their mark on the Belgian map. With their acquisition of Belgian bus company Voyages Léonard, they are progressing well. Now the group has invested 11 million euros on new luxury coaches.
Marc Sales, co-owner of Sales-Lentz admits that it was not an easy task to merge the two companies Sales Lentz and Voyages Léonard. Nevertheless, the takeover of the family run bus company based in Barchon near Liège, has paid off. "We think that the Belgian company will develop well," stated Marc Sales.
After one year, the numbers speak for themselves: Profits of the Belgian subsidiary and its 90 employees grew by 7 percent in 2011, while the Sales-Lentz travel agency business grew by 4 percent and there was a 3 percent increase for the tour operator side of the company.
For this and next year, Sales-Lentz is investing 11 million euros in upgrading their bus fleet. That means 32 new luxury coaches, 15 or Luxembourg and 17 for Belgium. "We made a bulk order thereby giving us better terms," explained Marc Sales.
