January 14, The Tiger Lillies Freakshow, CAPe Ettelbrück, 8pm
The Tiger Lillies bring old-fashioned entertainment to Luxembourg with a modern twist. With contortionists, dwarfs, dancers and more, the London band bring a morbid curiosity cabaret to the stage, somewhere between concert and vaudeville theatre.
CINEMA

January 13, Silent Movie Music Company – Lubitsch, Philharmonie, 8pm
What better way to enjoy silent film than on the big screen with a live orchestra? In their series of movie concerts, the Philharmonie presents The Doll (1919) and Romeo & Juliet in the Snow (1920) by Ernst Lubitsch. The intertitles are in German with French subtitles.
January 14&15, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo Avant Première, Various
Get the first look at the Hollywood rendition of Stieg Larsson's famous novel, starring newcomer Rooney Mara and Daniel Craig as Lisbeth Salander and Mikael Blomkvist. Get your tickets for the Saturday showings at 7pm and midnight, or catch the Sunday screening at 7pm.

MUSIC

January 13, Black Stone Raiders, Opderschmelz Dudelange, 8pm
This trio of musicians will bring some jazz, funk and rock to Dudelange. Jean-Paul Bourelly shared the stage with icon Jimi Hendrix, Darryl Jones has recorded and toured as primary bassist with the Rolling Stones, and Will Calhoun has seen fame as Living Colour's drummer.
January 14, Whale Vs Elephant & Ben Andrews, LiquID, 9.30pm
A mix of electro, acoustic and indie, Whale Vs Elephant from Germany bring a chilled out, wintery sound, inspired by the German and Icelandic indietronic scene. The concert is followed up by Ben Andrews hitting the DJ decks.
January 15, Vernissage 24h Electro for Kids, Rockhal, 11am-4pm
Not a concert as such, the 24h Electro for Kids encourages children to discover the world of sound and music. Ahead of the official run from January 16 to February 4, the Vernissage gives audiences a chance to catch a first glimpse of the sound installations in the Rockhal's Aquarium, where the little musicians can learn more about how to make some noise.
ART

Ongoing until January 29, LUME – Luxembourg Mexico Art Connection, Konschthaus Beim Engel, Luxembourg
Six Luxembourg and Mexican artists will display their work exploring the theme of “Identity of our Society”in this joint exhibition. Featuring photography and paintings by Yves Bassi, Arturo Betancourt, Claudeath, Ginette Degrott, Simone Finck, and Remo Raffaelli, the exhibit forms part of a biennial exposition in Luxembourg and Mexico.
Ongoing until February 16, Body & Water, Carré Rotondes
This video installation by Julie Schroell and Martine Glod explores the relationship between body, light and water in movement, featuring dancers from the Donlon Dance Company and the Saarland state theatre ballet.
OTHER

January 14, Culture ministry open day, Hôtel des Terres Rouges, 10am-6pm
Take a look at the culture ministry's new facilities while enjoying free art and performances throughout the day. Dancers, musicians, and even the Zaltimbanq circus school will be on site to provide entertainment.
January 14, Winter Clubbing, Luxexpo, doors open 8pm
Dance the night away at the first mega-party of the year. Some 10 DJs will keep the party going until the early hours of the morning, together with the Cirque du Soir hailing from London bringing snake charmers, stilt walkers and more with a burlesque twist.
