(ADW) The cost of a packet of cigarettes in the Grand Duchy is soon to rise in cost. The planned increase will be between 0.20 and 0.30 cents per packet, a decision made on Friday by the Governing Council.
The cigarette price rise has been approved by Ministers, and a direct result of a Grand-Ducal draft regulation setting excise duty amounts affecting tobacco products. In turn the extra duty will be passed on to the consumer and raising the cost of tobacco in Luxembourg.
