(ADW) On Tuesday morning, the forty or so air traffic controllers who found themselves under threat of their licence withdrawals, finally succeeded after an emergency meeting between the trade union delegation and the Minister of Transport, Claude Wiseler.
Just as pilots do, air traffic controllers must declare the number of hours worked to continue to hold on to their licences. However, the Director of Civil Aviation, Claude Waltzing, sent by registered post to around forty Findel air traffic controllers, a demand to submit their hours worked for all of 2011, right up until 16 January 2012, otherwise their licences would not be renewed when they expired on Monday at midnight.
