(CS) Luxembourg's Cyber Security Board has recommended to speed up processes to increase sensitisation of the handling of digital information among state employees.
The meeting of the Cyber Security Board came a week after a security vulnerability in the national Medico Social database was brought to public attention.
The training sessions are meant to increase data security awareness and bring about a consistent reinforcement of the 2000-2014 government information technology plans.
Especially employees at banks and other institutions handling sensitive data will be called on to treat data security as an absolute priority. The training will take place under the auspices of the national administration institute, and a working group is currently planning the practicalities.
The recent Medico Social scandal was brought about after a doctor left their username and password to the database of registered athletes on a post-it stuck to their computer screen.
Members of the Board on Wednesday spoke out on strong security systems, especially via the LUXTRUST system. They have also agreed on a swift analysis of a variety of sensitive databases in order to better assess cyber security and issue recommendations to improve data protection.
