VIDEO: INBORN! celebrate 10 years with 'Heatwave'
Local band INBORN! celebrate their 10 years of existence with a "micro-festival" at Exit07 on Saturday, January 28. In a special wort.lu/en video interview with the lead singer, we reflect on the past decade and the band's achievements.

Having a band in Luxembourg isn’t easy. The size of the country does mean musicians ‘make it big’ within the Duchy’s borders relatively quickly, playing gigs, festivals and getting radio air-time, but then what? Many local groups have fizzled out, or split as its members give up or drift off into other musical projects to start the process again.
This is not the case for INBORN! who have been a band through thick and thin, never losing sight or the passion to forge their own unique style of music and “persona”. Now, the six musicians, recently grown from the original four-member line-up, celebrate 10 years of INBORN! at what they are calling a “micro-festival” at Exit07 on Saturday, January 28.

In a special video interview with wort.lu/en, lead singer Cedric Kayser reflected on 10 years of INBORN! and ran through the many highlights the band experienced over the decade.
When asked if he could remember the first gig INBORN! ever played “yeah it was a tragedy!” was Cedric’s response, “we played at the guitar player’s and drummer’s birthday party and about 200 people were sitting quietly contemplating us on a little stage and it felt kind of awkward like going to the doctor or something!”
But INBORN! certainly overcame their awkwardness to spend the next decade reaching places other local bands could only dream of: Two EP releases came in 2007 and 2010, a couple of single releases and then came the band’s big break. The first complete album INBORN! released in 2011 was produced by well-known American record producer Ross Robinson, who has also worked with the likes of The Cure, Slipknot, Klaxons, Machine Head, Deftones; the list is a long one!
“He discovered us on the internet,” Cedric explained. “Looking through the internet for something new, he discovered INBORN! for some kind of reason,” he grinned. “He then dropped us a mail and at first we thought it was someone else trying to come across as Ross Robinson.” But it wasn’t! The man himself had contacted the Luxembourg outfit and it wasn’t long before INBORN! found themselves in Venice Beach in Florida working hard on their album together, and “Persona” was released in 2011.
Most recently the band has announced that they have signed to German independent label Snowhite, that works closely with Universal Music, and found help in the form of a tour manager. The Persona album is due to be released soon in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
