(ADW) At some point later this year the checkpoint at the border crossing on the A3 in Zoufftgen between Luxembourg and France will be demolished. That was the guarantee from Claude Wiseler, Minister of Sustainable Development and Infrastructure. French MEP Anne Grommerch on Saturday stated in a television interview to kick off the election campaign that indeed the site will be torn down.
The former customs point is located both in Luxembourg and France and has been in existence since the motorway was first built and considered an eyesore since the opening of EU borders back in 1993.
