A crash involving two trucks left one driver seriously injured early Monday morning.
On the A3 motorway in the direction of France, a truck collided with another, the driver’s cabin of one being completely destroyed and the left side of the trailer ripped open causing the load to spill out across the roadway. The other truck was also badly damaged. The injured driver of one truck was rushed to hospital, the other escaped uninjured.
As a result of the accident and the clean-up operation required, the right-hand lane has been blocked and at the time of writing this article, is still currently closed.
According to initial reports there is a frozen oil patch on the road that could have been the cause of the accident and the lane will remain closed until it, and debris, are cleared.
Just before the accident ACL reported, at 6:50am, another accident involving a car and a truck causing following motorists to zig-zag around the vehicles.

On the A4 motorway, to Esch-sur-Alzette the outside lane in both directions have been closed off near Leudelange. This is due to rising water levels on the road forming very dangerous sheets of ice. Drivers should take extra care in this area.
