A rare two-headed snake kept its heads down when it made a special appearance in Luxembourg at the weekend.
The Hydra boa constrictor was the star attraction at Luxexpo's House of Reptiles, attracting queues of curious visitors stretching out of the door on Saturday.
But, whether it was the noise or the thousands of staring faces, the bizarre Hydra gave the crowds the slip, hiding peacefully in its tank for much of Saturday afternoon.
The creature, which has two brains and is capable of eating through both mouths, was one of scores of snakes, tortoises, toads and spiders featuring in the three-day exhibition.
From the creepy tarantulas to the giant tame snake, which the public could be photographed with, the exhibition is not for the faint-hearted.
The House of Reptiles continues on February 12 at Luxexpo from 10am to 10pm.
