(CS) The Brasserie Nationale closed 2011 with a 4.9% increase in sales with over 415,000 hectolitres of products sold.
The brewery group combines Bofferding, Battin and Munhowen, a company marketing the local brands and selling imported beer.
The EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxation, depreciation, and amortisation) for the last year lies at around 10 million euros, marking a 8.3% rise.
Reinforcing its market position, the Brasserie Nationale's brands Bofferding and Battin sold 160,000 hectoliters of beer, a 2.5% increase making for a 57% market share in Luxembourg of locally brewed beers.
Brewing after the “Reinheitsgebot,” a traditional method allowing only malt, hops, yeast, and water, the company decided to bring forward a five million euro investment to increase brewing and storage capacity, following the 2011 results.
The Munhowen branch increased its turnover by 4.6% in comparison to 2011 amounting to 65.117 million euros, with an EBITDA of 4.5 million euros and 415,000 hectolitres sold, all products included.
The Brasserie Nationale – Munhowen group currently employs 262 people.
