(ADW) The traditional Autojumble, organised by Luxembourg Federation of Associations of Collectors of Vehicles was held at the Luxexpo at the weekend. The event brought together amateurs, collectors, restorers and sellers of vintage cars. It was nostalgia for the older visitors and something to experience for the first time for the younger. The event certainly found an audience.
Of the 40 stands, the Musée de la Poste, already owner of a 1971 VW Beetle, a 1976 VW T2 "Bulli" and a 1989 Citroen 2CV6 Special, on Saturday presented a 1978 Citroën HY fully restored. None of the original models that were on the road in Luxembourg could not be recovered, but museum staff found an identical model in Germany.
The engine works once again and the bodywork completely repainted and polished in the green colour that the postal service used for many years in Luxembourg. Soon the Citroën HY will be seen on Luxembourg’s roads once again.
