Local Luxembourg band The Tame & The Wild are set to release a special ten-inch vinyl on Saturday at Colpach-Bas in Diekirch. Bassist Flëpp Wenger spoke to Sam Steen about the release and what the future holds for group.
The Tame & The Wild have been around for quite a while now but various line-up changes over the past two years had threatened to stall things for the band. The release of their most recent single "Before We Die" marked a welcome return for the group and this weekend they will bring out a collection of some of the songs that they have been working on and performing since their formation.
"People who have been following us could already have heard everything (on the record), the two live songs are from the Vagabond sessions so they are on YouTube, 'January Morning' came out one year ago and 'Before We Die' came out in the springtime. There’s no new material but it’s everything we’ve done, collected on a ten inch vinyl", Flepp explained.
Having had to wait so long to bring out a physical release of their music, this 10-inch is an important milestone for the band and it also gives them an opportunity to show all the different sides to their music.
"For us it’s really great because we love to work in the studio with our producer but we also love to play live because it gives us a totally different sound", said Flepp, "It’s two different mediums for the music and in this way we can show both sides. On the A side, the old fashioned studio versions and on the B side we have the live versions. It’s both worlds on one vinyl."
Supporting The Tame & The Wild on the night will be Bartleby Delicate, the solo project from Georges Goerens, better known as the front man of Seed To Tree. "It’s the third time he will be playing with us and we’re really pleased that he has found the time to do that."
As for future releases, The Tame & The Wild are not going to allow another two years to pass before releasing another record and they are in fact already working on another 10-inch vinyl.

"We have eight or nine songs in the works, five are totally done the others are only missing a few overdubs and small things so the plan is to get two live songs and two studio songs out on another ten-inch vinyl and do that every half a year so there will be more Tame & The Wild and it will be continuous."
The Tame & The Wild really became noticed in the Luxembourg music scene after their Rock-A-Field set back in 2015, so it’s great to finally have them back and releasing music.
The location of the concert is Château de Colpach (Manège) 1, rue d'Ell L-8526 Colpach-Bas and starts at 8:30pm on Saturday.
Tickets cost €12 and can be bought at this link: release-show-ticket You can also check out the Facebook Event.
