Luxembourg's Asselborn bids farewell to US Secretary of State Kerry
Luxembourg's Foreign Minister Jean Asselborn had the honourable task of bidding farewell to outgoing colleagues John Kerry and Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
08.12.2016
(tom/sth) – John Kerry,
US Secretary of State, is currently touring on his last official trip
through Europe before the end of his mandate. This brought him to the
NATO meeting of Ministers of Foreign Affairs, from where he travelled
on to the OSCE meeting in Hamburg.
His German colleague,
Frank-Walter Steinmeier will also be leaving office in all
likeliness. He has been nominated by his party and by the party of
German Chancellor Merkel, to become Germany's next President and he
has accepted this nomination. In the case of his election in
February, which is very likely going through, Germany will have to
nominate a new Foreign Affairs Minister.
