Why become Luxembourgish? People share their stories
As the capital hosted a reception for around 300 new Luxembourgish passport holders, Wort.lu/en set out to learn why so many people chose to become “Letzebuerger”.
(JB) Luxembourg with its multicultural population issues more nationalities per capita than any other country in the world. Last year alone 3,387 people became Luxembourgish, either through naturalisation (522) or recovery (2865).
Speaking to a handful of the 300 new Luxembourgers attending a Luxembourg City reception on Wednesday, it is clear that adopting another nationality or even relinquishing their first nationality is not a decision taken lightly.
