(ADW) The operating costs of
Luxembourg's parliament, the “Chambre des Deputes” was 32 million
euros for 2015. This figure was announced on Tuesday by Parliament's
General Secretary Claude Frieseisen.
But while this amount may sound large it is actually
good news because it comes in two million euros less that the
amount budgeted for.
How does it break down?
The lion's share of the
total cost was wages for the 60 MPs at 11.6 million euros, while
personal costs stood at 9.6 million euros.
The operational costs of the
Chambre last year were 5.3 million euros, with party
subsidies amounting to 2.7 million euros.
The cost of foreign
residences was 585,000 euros in 2015 and finally 914,000 euros was
how much is cost for report publications and distribution.
