Members of the public are reminded to keep an eye out for Europe's most wanted criminals when travelling this festive season, including one from Luxembourg.
To
remind them of the criminals and suspects still out there, Europol will promote the information
of a different fugitive every day for 23 days, starting December 1.
More
than 60 convicted criminals or people suspected of serious crimes are
listed on Europe's Most Wanted fugitive list, among them murderers,
kidnappers, terrorists and drug traffickers.
Since
the list was launched at the end of January 2016, 24 people on the
list have been arrested but many more are hiding all over Europe.
Among the fugitives is one Luxembourger, Jean-Marc Sirichai Kiech, who escaped from prison while serving a sentence for murder and grievous bodily injury.
“You
can help as well and your help has proven decisive in the past,”
Europol said in a public appeal for help. “Nine out of the current
24 arrests were directly linked to the media attention around
Europe's most wanted fugitives and tip-offs from the public.”
