Scenic
Route to Alaska are an indie folk band from Canada The three piece
recently released their fourth studio album, Long Walk Home, and they
are set to play at de Gudde Wellen on Wednesday.
The band have steadily built up their following over the years and
drummer Shea Connor took some time to tell Sam Steen about the band
and the latest record.
While
not widely known in Europe, Scenic Route To Alaska have been playing
together for years. They released their self-titled debut album back
in 2011 but have known each other much longer than that. “We all
grew up together in Edmonton Alberta in Canada and I’ve known Trev
and Murray for ten year and they’ve known each other since they
were five years old”, said Shea, “basically, simultaneously we
all started playing music around twelve years old and we started up
an R’n’B cover band together and played in that for about ten
years before we decided to do our own thing.”
