(mth/sth) – Despite European Integration and the Schengen area, there are still problems when it comes to public activities taking place in border regions and possibly necessitating border crossings. One such problem concerns the operation of Luxembourgish ambulances on Belgian territory.

Interior Minister Dan Kersch got rid of restrictions in this field on Monday morning. In the context of the Luxembourg Benelux Presidency, Kersch signed a bilateral agreement with Belgian Ambassador Thomas Antoine, concerning the cross-border transportation of patients and organs.
