It's been many years since the wolf was introduced into western Europe, but sightings have been scarce and none have been proved in the Benelux, at least that is until now. It has just been officially announced that a wolf has been spotted in Belgium, not far from the Luxembourg border.
The information was reported by Belgian newspaper “l'Avenir” on Tuesday quoting the Belgian Environment Minister René Collin for Wallonia in saying “wolves have returned home to the large forest areas of Wallonia after more than 118 years.”
