Inhabitants of a multi-family house in Howald were evacuated early Monday evening after fire broke out in the building and even spread to an adjacent business premises.
Inhabitants of a multi-family house in Howald were evacuated early Monday evening after fire broke out in the building and even spread to an adjacent business premises.
The incident occurred at about 5:30pm on Route de Thionville and it was thanks to workers of a cleaning company who triggered the alarm.
Firefighters rushed to the scene and using special respiratory equipment, searched the building and managed to evacuate everyone inside.
The road was also partially blocked to traffic as no less than 32 firefighters tackled the blaze.
Luckily there were no injuries, however a high amount of material damage was reported.
It is not known what caused the fire at this stage.
