(JB) It's the 1970s, and a
couple arrive at a lively but run-down hotel in the Soho district of
New York's Manhattan, where toe-tapping tunes drift down
its corridors. That is the premise of “Harlem Hotel”, the latest
comedy by English musical theatre group Pirates.
Directed by Julien Farlin
and Nataša Vlaović, who three years ago brought us “The Jazz
Club”, the show evolved out of improvisations around Harlem with
the 18-strong cast.
