Opposition to planned German motorway tolls growing in Trier region

(STH) As the German government and the European Commission move closer to an agreement on plans to introduce tolls on German “Autobahns”, opposition from inside the country's border region is growing.
Politicians'
and business leaders' calls for exemptions from the motorway toll are
becoming louder. Trier's mayor Wolfram Leibe (SPD) for example, is
convinced that his city would suffer under the introduction of such a
toll.
