(JB) Food waste is a growing concern in
Luxembourg where on average 123 kilos is wasted per person per year.
Besides unnecessarily squandering the precious resources that go into
producing the food we throw away, decomposing food in landfill
releases methane, a gas is more harmful to the environment than
carbon dioxide.
Fortunately, some communes in
Luxembourg are making strides in sorting and recycling food waste by
introducing bio bins for kitchen waste.
