'Kropemann' rises from River Attert for celebration
Residents of Redange-sur-Attert held their annual "Kropemannsfest" for the fifth time on Sunday, dedicated to mythical creature Kropemann, and thousands of visitors flocked to celebrate too.
Residents of Redange-sur-Attert held their annual "Kropemannsfest" for the fifth time on Sunday, dedicated to mythical creature Kropemann, and thousands of visitors flocked to celebrate too.
But who or what is Kropemann? According to the legend he’s an underwater creature, and a kind of water spirit. He may look rather scary, but today he’s seen as protector of nature and the landscape of the Attert valley. He’s an ecological guardian to the land and water.
