From Chernobyl to Hollywood
The Luxembourg film "La Supplication" ("Voices from Chernobyl") has been chosen to represent the Grand Duchy in the 89th edition of the Academy Awards.
(C/NG) The national selection committee for the Academy Awards has selected the Luxembourg film "LaSupplication" ("Voices from Chernobyl") to represent the Grand Duchy in the 89th edition of the awards in the "Foreign Language Film Award" category.
This Luxembourg production (Red Lion), an adaptation by Luxembourg director Pol Cruchten from the novel by Svetlana Alexievitch, winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature in 2015, puts into images the stories of victims of the 1986 Chernobyl disaster.
