(AFP) For
children aged four to 10, playing with a touchscreen tablet—such as
Apple's iPad—before surgery could be as effective as sedatives when
it comes to reducing anxiety. It could even make anesthesia more
effective, a French study has found.
The research, led by Dr Dominique
Chassard at the Hospices Civils de Lyon, was presented at the World
Congress of Anesthesiologists annual conference in Hong Kong, which runs August 28
to September 2 this year.
