Visitors to the "Neien Tramsschapp" (tram
station) this weekend will have the chance to be the first
passengers on Luxembourg City's new tram, just short of three months
before its official launch.
The Neien Tramsschapp in Kirchberg, throws open its
doors on September 23 and 24 for visitors to take a peek inside the
brand new tram depot and central hub of the entire network.
During the "open days" the focus of the event
will be based on the theme "mobility of tomorrow". Several
well-known figures will be present for the occasion including CFL
representatives and members of the Ministry of Infrastructure.
There will also be entertainment and concerts as part
of the programme for both Saturday and Sunday, running from 10am to
6pm.
It should be noted that the area around the Neien Tramsschapp site at
the far end of Kirchberg near the Serra roundabout will be closed to
traffic. Visitors are therefore advised to use the free shuttle buses provided by the City for the occasion.

Although the tram station is open to all and turning up on the day possible, it is recommended to sign-up by filling in your details on the website. This may also help in getting a space on the tram, although this is not made clear on the website. Go to: luxtram.lu
