If you're unable to get
out the office and walk or cycle across the new pedestrian walkway
suspended underneath Pont Adolphe, fear not as Wort takes you on a
ride from one side to the other in a short video.
Access to the rather
unique way of crossing over the Pétrusse valley, filmed in the
direction taken by our cycling journalist, is via Avenue
Marie-Thérèse.
While the crossing
still remains a novelty, people appear to be ignoring the lanes, or
park their bikes in the middle to admire the views. As the video
shows, it seems impossible to ride in a straight line. As pedestrians
get used to the walkway, no doubt more order will ensue.
At the other side of
the valley, the walkway emerges at Place de Metz and cyclists can continue on the following routes towards the Gare district.

During a press visit to
the site a few weeks ago, François Bausch, Minister of Sustainable
Development and Infrastructure stated: "It is the first
footbridge of its kind in the world that is suspended in this way under an
existing bridge and under a historic bridge! It was a challenge to
achieve this by respecting the historical character of Pont Adolphe
and by giving it a very spectacular new element.”
