(DPA/NR/NG) It looks as if this deer wanted to use public transport: in a recent accident in Austria, the wild animal found itself inside a bus. The stag, approximately one year old, crashed through the windshield of a Carinthian post bus but was only slightly injured, the news agency APA reported on Thursday.
The startled deer bucked around before fleeing to a seat.
The driver, along with the only human passenger on the bus, managed to evade the animal altogether. However, the driver forgot to apply the handbrake, and the bus then rolled into a ditch before coming to a halt, thanks to a tree blocking its path.
The bus driver and passenger--and then also the deer--escaped through the rear door. Although the deer and passenger got away lightly, the bus driver was slightly injured.
The bus damages amount to roughly 15,000 euros.
