The UK will propose on Monday that a treaty covering law enforcement, security and criminal justice be struck with the European Union after it leaves the bloc, expected in March 2019.
The announcement will come just days after an attack on a London commuter train that injured at least 30 people. It was the UK's fifth terrorist attack this year. The country remains on a 'critical' threat alert, meaning another attack is imminent.
