Local instrumental rock band Heartbeat Parade release their latest album, 'Some Sort Of Naked Apes' on Saturday night at Rotondes and band member Vinch chats to Sam all about it and other stuff too.

Local instrumental rock band Heartbeat Paraderelease their latest album, 'Some Sort Of Naked Apes' on Saturday night at Rotondes. Vinch, who plays guitars and piano in the band took some time to tell Sam Steen all about the band, the new album and their release party.
'Some Sort Of Naked Apes' is Heartbeat Parade’s second album after 2013’s 'Hora De Los Horns' but for those who don’t know them, Vinch described how they got together.
“In 2009 we met but before we set up, Felix and Vinnie were the rhythm section of a well known hardcore band from the Kufa scene, they had played a lot of gigs in Europe and I was playing the guitar in a French metal band. We were recording our CD at Kufa and we met and all three of us were listening to and loving the same music so we started practising together”, he said.
From there things began to move quite rapidly for the trio “We quickly became a live band playing shows all over Europe and we’ve already played over a hundred gigs as Heartbeat Parade.”
The new album sees the band sticking to their instrumental roots but also growing on their previous releases, “On the one hand it’s still instrumental rock with samples but on the other hand I play more piano, samples are maybe more in the front of the music and more important”, explained Vinch, “and also I think this album is a bit more aggressive.”
That progression is clearly important to Heartbeat Parade, the band are keen to constantly evolve their sound. “We worked hard on it all this year, I hope it’s different because it’s always important to try something new. It’s always important for Heartbeat Parade to try new things and to test new things. But it’s up to the listeners to decide.” Vince added.
At their release party tomorrow night Heartbeat Parade will be supported by two other acts, giving music fans a full night of entertainment. Their choices of support bands reflect the members’ musical past and present while also mirroring their attitude to making records.

“We will play with two other bands”, said Vinch, “A French one called X Syndicate, a punk/metal band from Paris, they played with Slayer last year and a very young band from Luxembourg called Cassée. It’s psychedelic post rock, they make all their CD’s in a DIY way which is important to us and also their music is very cool and the guys are cool too. They’re a young band and it’s important to support young bands.”
The band are always keen to promote and support the music scene here in Luxembourg and this is a great opportunity for music lovers to do the same at the cities newest venue, the Rotondes, in Bonnevoie.
