Bestselling Swedish crime writer Henning Mankel, whose most famous creation was the detective Kurt Wallander, died overnight at the age of 67, his publisher said Monday.

creation was the detective Kurt Wallander, died overnight at the age of
67, his publisher said Monday.
Mankell had been been suffering from cancer for several years and
"passed away peacefully" in the Swedish city of Gothenburg, publishing
house Leopard said on its website.
