This year’s Royal Air Force Association weekend took place from October 2-4. The aim was to remember those who gave their lives in service.
The British Ambassador to Luxembourg, Alice Walpole, hosted a reception on Friday night which has become a tradition for British Ambassadors to Luxembourg to give as the opening to this annual RAFA weekend.
The event is meant as a thank you to Royal Air Force Association members and an acknowledgement of their work.
Commemorative events included a memorial ceremony at the Winston Churchill Memorial in Luxembourg City Centre on Saturday, followed by a second ceremony at the RAF graves in La Madeleine, Pétange.
The cortege then proceeded to the monument ‘Victimes de Nazisme’ in the centre of Pétange, for a final ceremony.
