(JB) The University of Luxembourg has made it into the top 200 universities of the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2015-2016.
The Luxembourg based university, which was founded in 2003, was ranked 193rd, positioning itself in joint place with Taxas A&M University, between Ulm University in Germany and Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin in Germany.
Taking into account only European institutions, the University of Luxembourg made the top 100, occupying 98th place.
"It is gratifying to be recognised for the work we do here and the impact it has — both on our students and on the global community. This result confirms that our young university is on the right track to become a model European research university of the 21st century," said University of Luxembourg president Rainer Klump.
The ranking is one of the most widely referenced in the world and is partly based on a global survey of academics regarding teaching, research, international outlook, industry income as well as the citation frequency of publications and various statistical data.
The University of Luxembourg scored highest for its international outlook, where it ranked second after Qatar University and ahead of the University of Hong Kong.
